Limp Bizkit’s Estonia show reportedly canceled over resurfaced Fred Durst pro-Putin comments

A recently announced Limp Bizkit show in Tallinn, Estonia has been canceled, reportedly due to resurfaced comments from frontman Fred Durst praising Russian president Vladimir Putin.

According to Estonia’s ERR news agency, the May 31, 2026 concert at Unibet Arena was called off by promoter Baltic Live Agency (BLA), which said on Thursday (Nov. 13): “we inform you that due to circumstances beyond the organizer's control, the Limp Bizkit concert planned for May 31, 2026 is canceled. Our apologies!”

The show was announced on Nov. 7, with ticket pre-sales scheduled for Nov. 10, but those sales were reportedly postponed as concerns grew in Estonia — a country that regained independence from Soviet rule in 1991 — about Durst’s past pro-Russia statements.

ERR reports that the backlash stems from Durst holding up a sign in 2015 reading “Crimea=Russia” and “welcome” following Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea. After the new show announcement, Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that there is “no place in Estonia for support of aggressor state Russia.”

Ministry media adviser Brita Kikkas emphasized: “Estonia supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and the principle that every last centimeter of Ukrainian territory belongs to Ukraine.”
Foreign Affairs minister Margus Tsahkna added: “Russia is the aggressor… Those who justify Russia's aggression and the occupation of a neighboring country are not welcome in Estonia. They have no place on Estonian stages and should not be earning income here.”

As of now, the show no longer appears on the band’s official tour routing, nor on the arena’s site. Attempts to purchase tickets lead to a Ticketmaster error page reading: “the page you requested was not found.”

BLA told ERR it was aware of the sign, claiming the only explanation was that “at the time (until 2019), Fred Durst was married to a Russian Crimean woman and evidently living in a distorted information bubble.”

Durst was banned from entering Ukraine in 2015 for five years due to the same statements and for reportedly showing interest in relocating to Crimea for creative projects.

ERR also noted Durst once praised Putin as a “great guy with clear moral principles and a nice person.” In 2023, Limp Bizkit released a video for “Out of Style” featuring a deepfake of Durst as Putin, DJ Lethal as Zelenskyy, and Wes Borland as President Biden.

At press time, Limp Bizkit and BLA have not responded to requests for comment.
